This classic streamer delivers the signature Naim sound at an accessible price point. Uses the old version of the Naim interface but still supports Spotify, Tidal, UPnP/network streaming off a NAS. Can operate as a standalone DAC via 3 digital inputs (coaxial, BNC and optica) feeding the Burr-Brown PCM1791 DAC chip found in the NDX from the same era.
The power supply section in the unit is upgradeable with Naim external PSU’s (XP5 XS and the pricier XPS), and third party options like Teddy Pardo.
The streamer is an excellent way to elevate the sound of compact modern streamers such as Wiim and Bluesound without breaking the bank. The current ND5-XS2 retails for R60k!
