Similar to the 683’s which I just listed, the bass needs a little bit of control at times so a receiver with good room correction software will get the most out of it. As it is a full range centre, equal power across the front 3 channels really helps it all blend nicely too.
Bowers & Wilkins HTM61 S1 Centre Speaker. Large, true 3-way design, that mates perfectly with the 683 and 684 floor standing models. I’ve had this unit for a few years in a 600 series system and found that it blended seamlessly with my 683’s. I’d attribute that to its wide frequency range and the FST midrange. I typically ran it crossed over at 60hz to bump up the higher end a little but it can be shifted in either direction, depends on your amplification, preferences and room setup. I found it equally satisfying for films and 5-channel music with excellent vocal reproduction. I really liked the lower end too as effects were able to sweep across the entire front stage seamlessly.
